Legal Notice and Disclaimer for 78 Pottery

Welcome to 78 Pottery. By purchasing or using any products from 78 Pottery, including but not limited to ceramics, candles, soaps, room sprays, and car diffusers, you agree to the following terms and conditions.

1. Handmade & Small-Batch Nature of Products

All 78 Pottery products are handcrafted in small batches in Marshalltown, Iowa. Due to the artisanal nature of our process, including our wheel-thrown ceramics and hand-poured soy wax candles, slight variations in color, size, shape, scent throw, and weight are entirely normal and to be expected. These unique characteristics are the hallmark of handmade goods and do not constitute a defect.

2. Candle & Home Fragrance Safety

Fire safety is of the utmost importance. When purchasing and using our candles, wax melts, room sprays, or car diffusers, the customer assumes all responsibility for safe usage.

  • Burn within sight: Never leave a burning candle unattended.

  • Keep away from flammables: Never burn a candle on or near anything that can catch fire.

  • Keep away from children and pets: Ensure candles and diffusers are placed out of reach.

  • Vessel care: Do not burn a candle all the way down to the bottom of the ceramic vessel or container. Stop use when 1/4 inch of wax remains to prevent overheating.

  • 78 Pottery is not responsible for any damage, injury, or loss of property resulting from the misuse or improper burning of our candles or fragrance products.

3. Bath & Body Product Disclaimer

Our bath and body products, including our goat's milk soaps and foaming liquid soaps, are formulated with high-quality raw materials, fragrance oils, and bases. However, these products are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any medical condition or disease.

  • Allergy Warning: Please review all ingredient lists before purchase. If you have sensitive skin or specific allergies, we recommend performing a small patch test before full use.

  • Discontinue Use: If irritation, redness, or discomfort occurs, discontinue use immediately and consult a healthcare provider.

  • 78 Pottery accepts no liability for any adverse reactions or allergies that may occur from the use of our skincare and soap products.

4. Food Safety of Ceramics

Unless explicitly stated otherwise on the product listing or accompanying documentation, our custom pottery and ceramic vessels are designed with food-safe glazes. However, extreme temperature changes (such as taking a piece directly from a refrigerator to a hot oven or microwave) can cause thermal shock and crack the pottery. Handwashing is always recommended to preserve the life of your ceramic pieces.

5. Intellectual Property

All content, original designs, ceramic forms, custom scent profiles, product names, logos, and imagery associated with 78 Pottery are the exclusive intellectual property of 78 Pottery. They may not be reproduced, copied, or distributed without our express written permission.

6. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, 78 Pottery shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages resulting from the use or inability to use our products.

7. Governing Law

These terms and conditions, and any separate agreements whereby we provide you goods, shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Iowa.
